Salmiak in stone for cleaning soldering tips

Salmon (ammonium chloride) in stone is designed for removing oxides from copper solders and cleaning metal surfaces. The hot soldering tip should be pressed to the salmiak. This will cause the molten salmiak to effectively clean the tip of the oxide layer - even if the tip is very dirty and overheated. Salmiak once again takes on a constant consistency after cooling.
